Status Infliction

There are your normal attacks. Then there are attacks that inflict a certain status on you. Some are deadly in the first strike. Some whittle away your HP until you're dead. And some are used by the player to grant them special advantages for a certain period of time.

Noticeable Status Inflictions

Petrify

You turn to stone for a small amount of time and HP is taken off.

Evidence: Character looks like they're struggling while they turn to stone. They will also start to turn to stone from the feet up. Monsters are encased in stone briefly and soon shake themselves free.

Important Note: When player is under Petrified Status, any other players that use "Skill Freeze" will halt the Petrification, but the animation will keep going. The halt will stop the timing, but the players can keep attempting to negate damage. Also, no one can hurt you while in Petrified Status.

Effect Caused by: Arme's first job, Mage; Certain monsters in Dungeon mode.

Curse

HP decreases each time you press the attack key/button. Lasts for a few seconds.

Evidence: Character is darkened (Very High Quality Only). Otherwise, when you do anything except for normally attack once, without jumping or falling, you will take a small amount of damage for each time you press the Z button.

Effect Caused by: Arme's first job, Mage("Death Cloud" cash skill.); Certain monsters in Dungeon mode.

Freeze

Character is frozen until they break themselves out. HP gradually decreases while frozen, but does not decrease in PvP while under the effect of the pet Ice Pixie. Monsters are encased in ice briefly and soon shake themselves free. Unlike petrify, freezing damage stops at fatal status.

Evidence: Character is inside a big chunk of ice.

Effect Caused by:Ice Pixie; Certain monsters in Dungeon mode; Arme's fourth job, Battle Mage (First grade white magic skill: Ice Ball).

Confusion

When you are confused, your left and right buttons are switched. The effect does not do any damage, and last only a few seconds. Does not affect monsters.

Evidence: Spinning birds flying on top of your head.

Warning: If you are playing as Spell Knight, if you are hit by this attack, when you dash, you will automatically do the motion for "Ragna Bolt". This makes you extremely vulnerable, and, if someone is chasing you, just use "Ragna Bolt" to ward them off, or walk and jump skillfully away until the status disappears.
If you are a Magnus Dan and attempt to use the Dash Thrust attack, it will not be affected by the Confusion effect.

Effect Caused by: Arme's first job, Mage("Home of Darkness" cash skill); Casanova, and Siren's 2nd performance "Scream" attack.

Transparent

You are invisible for a short time. No one can see you unless you jump or hit the ground.

Evidence: No one can see you, unless you jump up, attack, or hit the ground, which will cause "Dust" sparks to fly out, making your location vulnerable.
In Dungeons, they'll completely lose sight of you, and go back to guarding the area (in other words, the'll drop aggrovation). Even if you create "Dust Sparks", they still wont notice you. However, they will attack if you stand infront of their faces or you attack them.

Effect Granted by: An item from Arme's second job, Alchemist; An item dropped in PvP on "Item Mode", Dark Assassin's first skill.

Invincible

You cannot be attacked for a short period of time. Only way to get this is to pick up and use the Invincibility item or by respawning.

Evidence: The character is flashing white while invincibility is in effect.

Warning: Glitch- Using invincibility while falling (From an attack that flings you upward) triggers a glitch that after landing, you are stuck curled up in a ball until someone hits you after the invincibility wears off, or until you use a MP attack. This is a glitch you want to avoid.

Effect Granted by: An item from Arme's second job, Alchemist (Third grade skill: Make Item/Alchemy), an item in PvP mode on "Item Mode" and when a player respawns after dying.

Haste

Your speed will greatly drop.

Evidence: The opponent will move at a slower speed, making them extremely vulnerable.

Important Note: Haste does not have an effect in dungeons but it can be used in PVP where it will slow down the speed of opponents.

Warning: If you happened to be delayed while in haste (Alchemist's Cure for example) you are stuck frozen (literally) until someone hits you or until you use a MP attack.

Effect Granted by: An item from Arme's second job, Alchemist;Alchemist's second skill "Toxic Gas"; the pet Arkham and pet Chaos Pepe

Poison

The afflicted player suffers negative regeneration. Monsters cannot be poisoned.

Evidence: Small white pale faces and a purple haze float around the player or a blood drop symbol with a stop sign on it.

Effect Granted by: Siren's 1st bar performance MP "Pretty Virus" and Thief, Lass' first job ("Blood Bash" Cash Skill)

Fatal

Fatal is a status automatically inflicted on a character when they reach around 1 HP and gives them no health regeneration. Once a character is in fatal, to finish them off they need to fall down.

Evidence: Character hunches over and pants loudly, their heartbeat becomes very loud, and the word "FATAL" is clearly displayed on them.

Note: Most healing skills and spells available in the game will restore slightly more HP to a Fatal character. However, due to the difficulty of being pushed to or around 1 HP without dying, it's generally better to use healing skills and items earlier to maintain a higher state of health, rather than try to extract the extra efficiency that comes with Fatal.
Somehow monsters can have Fatal effect but no "Fatal" signs on them. They will have 0 HP, or no HP Bar remaining, but are still alive. Some people like to call this "Zombie" mode, as they survived with 0 HP remaining.

Effect Caused by: Lass's first job, Thief "Fatal Attack"; losing all but one Health Point with a 50% success rate. Lire's "Head shot" in PvP mode.

Burning

Character will be an enraged state. His/her speed will increase, and will have temporary Super Armor (much like Nephilim's Super Armor exept that user can be grabbed).

Evidence: Character will have a yellowish aura around him/her for a few seconds.

Effect Caused by: Jin's ability

Ember Burn

Character will be engulfed in flames, and take constant damage. It can actually even affect skills, counterattacks, etc.

Evidence: A little flame spot will appear on the character/monster.

Effect Caused by: Lire's Skill Tree "Fire Arrow".

Poison

Character will be engulfed in poison, taking constant damage over time. Similar to Ember Burning.

Evidence: A Greenish spot on the character/monster.

Effect Caused by: Lire's Skill Tree "Poison Arrow".

Unnoticeable Status

Reflect

Many Ranged attacks such as arrows ricochet off of you.
This status seems bugged on certain points. Sometimes when you reflect a monster's special attack, it wont damage them. Same thing on the opposite effect.

Skill Freeze

Opponent will be stunned for a few seconds when the user is under a skill flash. The range of skill freeze is around 2x larger than the Elemental Aura.

Important Note: Monsters with Super Armor will not be affected by Skill Freeze effect. Also, if your ally hits your target that was stunned in the Skill Freeze, it will knock them out of it.

MP Drain

User's MP will rapidly decrease. Caused by the effect of Cursed Carin Stones and taunts during PVP.

+ MP

User's MP will increase by a certain amount. Caused by the effect of Carin Stones, Spiritual Recovery item (Alchemist's "Make Item" skill/PvP item mode) and dancer's/siren's taunt.

+ HP

HP will increase by a certain amount, removes Fatal effect. Caused by Mage's/Alchemist's "Cure" Skill and Ryan's "Transformation (Nephilim/Magnus Dan)" skill.

MP Recover

MP restoration will double for a brief period of time. Caused by Muse's "Rhapsody" skill.

Important Note: This only speeds the MP recovery rate, it does not restore MP (e.g. double MP gain from attacking monsters in Dungeon mode, double MP gain speed in PvP mode.)

HP Recover

HP restoration will increase by a certain amount for a period of time, removes Fatal effect. Caused by pet Myurin, Mage's "Boost Heal" cash skill, Dancer's "Loving You" skill, Dragon Knight's "Holy Inferno" skill, Siren's "Center Stage" skill, and HP Recovery item (Alchemist's "Make Item" skill, PvP item mode.)

Important Note: Pet Myurin doubles HP recovery rate, it does nothing if the user is not under an HP Recover effect. Pet Myurin and Holy Inferno do not remove the Fatal effect.
